Our History

Bank of Agriculture (BOA) Limited was incorporated as Nigerian Agricultural Bank (NAB) in 1972 and became operational in 1973 to carry out the functions of a Development Finance Institution (DFI) for the Agriculture and Rural Development sector. The Bank is wholly owned by the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Federal Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI) and Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in the ratio of 60%: 40% respectively.
1972 - Start Up
Incorporated as Nigerian Agricultural Bank Limited (NAB)
1973 - Stage 01
Commenced operation as Nigerian Agricultural Bank Limited (NAB).
1978 - Stage 02
Renamed Nigeria Agricultural & Co-operative Bank Limited (NACB).
2008 - Stage 03
Renamed Nigeria Agricultural Cooperative & Rural Development Bank Limited (NACRDB) after merger with the defunct People’s Bank of Nigeria (PBN), the Family Economic Advancement Programme (FEAP)
2010 - Today
Renamed Bank of Agriculture Limited (BOA), as part of efforts to re-position the Bank for better impact
